August Book Displays: Still Lots of Time for Fun Summer Reading

A lot more books are available for fun summer reading on the beach, in the backyard or in air-conditioned places.  Check out the first book display on the main floor to get some “Beach Reads.” There’s nothing like relaxing with a book from your local library. (Please click on the photos for a closer look.)

Take a trip around the world with “Flavors of the World”, the theme of our second book display. You can learn the fine art of cooking with one of these exotic cookbooks. Taste various cuisines from many different cultures. You are sure to find something to tickle your taste buds.

Currently, the mini book displays are “Take a Ride on the Wild Side”, a selection of notable western titles and “Library of Congress Literacy Awards” featuring the work of Denis Johnson, the winner for fiction.

On the third floor the health librarian’s book display is continuing with the theme “Have a Healthy and Safe Summer.”  It provides plenty of worthwhile information. If you have seen it already, note that more books and different handouts have been added to the display.

“Internet, World Wide Web, HTML, Networking, Browers and All that Stuff” is the subject of the second third floor display. If you are looking to learn more about online computing this display is for you. Technology is for everybody and is fast becoming an integral part of modern life.

We hope our patrons are enjoying the summer weather and vacation time, and that SPL is part of your routine and life all year round.
