Our June Book Displays

The two main displays for the first floor are “Beach Reads-Enjoy” and “Read Your Way Around the World.”

It’s that time of year to enjoy the beautiful summer weather at the beach or in your own backyard with a light entertaining book. The Beach Reads display, which we do yearly, offers a large and varied selection of titles. So take some time for yourself and relax with a fun read.

For the history and geography buffs “Read Your Way Around the World” is a great display.  Learn about exotic places and people and read about adventures in travel.  The covered topics go from Ancient Egypt to the Appalachian Trail, from tales of China, “Wild Swans: three Daughter of China” to the American south “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil,” a truly fascinating collection of books.

The main floor mini displays are “Mysteries in Italy” which  showcases mysteries that have Italy as their setting and “Book Shots” which are short books with big stories written by James Patterson.

On the third floor, the health librarian’s display is “June is Men’s Health Month”  which is about all things relating to men’s health, healthy aging, heart and weight, and prostate cancer.  As usual, the display contains both books and handouts.

“Make Music Day-June21” is the theme of the other display on the third floor. It has something for every music lover: folk songs, Magical Mystery Tour, Liberace, The Music Man, Music and the Mind…and who doesn’t love music?

The SPL book displays for June are all about reading for fun and  relaxation.

Book Displays are subject to change during the month.
