Afternoon Book Club

Invention of Wings

The Monthly Afternoon Book Club will meet on Tuesday, May 26th at 1:30 PM.  Please join Readers’ Services Librarian Lisa Jones to discuss The Invention of Wings by Sue Monk Kidd:

“A sweeping novel is set in motion on Sarah Grimke’s 11th birthday, when she is given ownership of ten year old Handful, who is to be her handmaid.  We follow their remarkable journey over the next thirty five years, as both strive for a life of their own, dramatically shaping each other’s destines and forming a complex relationship marked by guilt, defiance, estrangement and the uneasy ways of love.”

The discussion will take place in Conference Room B/C on the lower level.

Copies of the book are available at the Circulation Desk on the Main Floor.

This program is free and no registration is required.

We hope to see you there!
