The Monthly Afternoon Book Club
will be meeting on
Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at 1:30 pm
to discuss the novel “The Lowland” by Jhumpa Lahiri.
“The Lowland is an engrossing family saga steeped in history. It’s the story of two very different brothers bound by tragedy, a fiercely brilliant woman haunted by her past, a country torn apart by revolution and a love that endures long past death. Moving from the 1960’s to the present and from India to America and across generations, this dazzling novel is Jhumpa Lahiri at the height of her considerable powers”. (From the publisher).
Please join Lisa Jones, Readers’ Services Librarian in Room B/C.
Light refreshments will be served.
Copies of the book are currently available at the Circulation desk.
We hope to see you there!
