Recent Additions to “Book Club in a Bag”

The Readers’ Services of the Syosset Public Library has added the following books to our Book Club in a Bag collection:

light between oceansThe Light Between Oceans

by M. L. Stedman

“Tom Sherbourne is a lighthouse keeper on Janus Rock, a tiny island a half day’s boat journey from the coast of Western Australia. When a baby washes up in a rowboat, he and his young wife Isabel decide to raise the child as their own. The baby seems like a gift from God, and the couple’s reasoning for keeping her seduces the reader into entering the waters of treacherous morality even as Tom–whose moral code withstood the horrors of World War I–begins to waver.” (from the publisher)

storytellerThe Storyteller

by Jodi Picoult

“Becoming friends with Josef Weber, an old man who’s particularly loved in her community, Sage Singer is shocked when one day he asks her to kill him and reveals why he deserves to die, causing her to question her beliefs–and to wonder if his request would be murder or justice.” (from the publisher)

And the Mountains Echoed

by Khaled Hosseini

and the mountains echoed“The best-selling author of The Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns presents a story inspired by human love, how people take care of one another and how choices resonate through subsequent generations.” (from the publisher)
