New in DVD

(Ed. Note – This post is late this week due to Hurricane Sandy and its aftermath.  The library was able to re-open on Wednesday.  Internet became available last night, so R & R is back in business.  Here are the DVDs that came out this week, unfortunately we are still waiting on the delivery of the last two films.  Please keep checking the links to see if they have arrived.)

FIRST POSITION

(NR) DOCUMENTARY

Every year, thousands of aspiring dancers enter one of the world’s most prestigious ballet competitions, the Youth America Grand Prix, where lifelong dreams are at stake. In the final round, with hundreds competing for only a handful of elite scholarships and contracts, practice and discipline are paramount, and nothing short of perfection is expected. This documentary follows six dancers as they prepare for a chance to enter the world of professional ballet.
